G3 Golf Tour
February 16, 2009
Hey we are starting the G3 Golf Tour in 2009. Play in the weekly and monthly tournaments at the All Golf Center, Legend Trail Golf and Waverly Golf Course. We will track everyone’s earnings (gift certificate monies) for the whole year. We will award prizes for the Top 10 winners in 2009. First prize will be a season pass for both Legend Trail and the All Golf Center for 2010. We will have many more great prizes for those other 9 places.
The more you play the more you have a chance of winning prizes at the year end. In addition we will have a shootout for the Top 10 winners at a date to be determined. We will drop one player per hole until we end up with only two players on hole #9. It is a BLAST!!!
More details and the event schedule of all sanctioned events to come in the next few weeks.
Valentine’s Day had some fun, George Clark a hit!!!
February 16, 2009
WOW!!! Backwards even, WOW!!! We served over 110 people for our Valentine’s Dinner/Dance. Even saved a highway patrolman on Saturday Morning (inside joke)!!! George Clark was a huge, I mean huge, hit. Our Parkersburg people are already asking when we will have him, back. We will keep asking but he is in huge demand. Our own Satch came out of retirement, again, to sing a few tunes with his friend/accompanist George Clark.
Though we didn’t do everything, perfect, we sure tried. Jay said he never even got to look up as he was tooooo busy serving drinks to you, well big drinkers. Terri, Taylor and our relative John Michel, worked hard at getting the food to you in a timely manner. Satch and Steph did a nice job of getting the food out to you in a normally hot manner. By the way, they were both warming up for their duet in the back, but Moose did not perform with Satch. Maybe next time as he must teach her the words to those old-fashioned songs.
Thanks George, Satch and all that were still there singing “Happy Birthday” to Taylor on his 21st birthday. His dad hated having him work on his special day, but he is a trouper and said he could work, thanks Taylor.
We look forward to our next big wing-ding, St. Patty’s Day at the “O’Tap Room”. We will bring the Irish out in all of you.
Steph took some pictures so here they are…
I wonder who will be sitting here?

Taylor being sung too by Satch and the masses for #21…
The crowd…we have more but we better protect the innocent. Valentine’s Day 2009
We’re more than a golf course takes on a whole new meaning
February 8, 2009
The tag line “we’re more than a golf course” took on a whole new meaning at The Tap Room at Legend Trail during our Fysh Fry Fryday. We had a great turnout for Satch’s Special Batter on the Alaskan Walleye we served. Jay came back and laughed about the tag line we have designated at Legend Trail Golf. He said Satch is singing, people are clapping and all involved are having a great time. At 7:40 pm Satch said “Greg, I need to go get my amplifier”. I said “GO” . Judy Becker had brought her accordian to play and Satch brought his voice. It was “AWESOME”!!! My family and I sat in the back and laughed with joy for Satch. He was entertaining the crowd. Satch and Judy entertained the 50 people that still remained for 45 minutes or so with some great music.
Satch and Judy entertaining the crowd.
More of the crowd, Judy’s husband watches on.
I wish you could have seen Satch in the kitchen. He was as good in the kitchen as he was singing those songs. FYI-the amplifier is still in our back room so don’t be surprised if he does it again.
Thanks to all that attended our fyrst ever Fysh Fry Fryday. There will be more to come.
Kofoot named Golf Course Superintendent of the Year
February 5, 2009
John Kofoot, our very own talented superintendent, was named the Golf Course Superintendent of the Year. The Iowa Golf Course Superintendents Association presented John with his award at a meeting on January 21, 2009. John won out over three other very talented superintendents.
John’s many efforts to get Legend Trail back to where he had it in May did not go unnoticed by his peers. John was nominated by past winner Steve Tyler of Standard Golf for this prestigious award.
We thank John for his efforts and know that he will continue to make Legend Trail Golf his own piece of paradise.
