Don’t forget to get your season pass for 2009. We have many opportunities for the golfer and his/her family. Junior, Senior, Adult or Family. We want you all. So if you like to play 18 holes at a fun, municipal golf course, join Waverly Golf. If you like that the small town appeal of a fun, 9 hole golf course, join Legend Trail Golf. If you just want to hit range balls all day and play a quick nine on a fun 9 hole Par 3 golf course, then the All Golf Center may be for you.
No matter you taste or abilities–we have a facility for you. Or you may just decide to join all three. Remember that you save big at the All Golf Center and Legend Trail if you purchase before April 15th.

Friday & Saturday FOOD

We are open on Friday’s and Saturday’s from 5 pm to 8 pm. You knew we’d do it sometime. And as promised we were working around the golf season. Fortunately we were able to open the golf courses earlier than usual. But if you don’t want to play golf, that is okay, come eat also.
We have had several people say that they “do not play golf and may they still come out to eat and/or drink”? Absolutely. That is why the “we’re more than a golf course” motto. We want EVERYONE. Regardless of whether you play or not. We also have picnic umbrellas for our patio tables for those that want to sit on the deck, listen to music and have an drink or seven. I know it must get warmer but IT WILL, I promise.
Look under The Tap Room-Full Menu to see our offerings at the current time. We have added a staff member in Tiffany Walters. She starts tomorrow, so welcome her with the same vigor you have welcomed us. FYI, my wife will have put up with me for 22 years as of Sunday. How do I know this? She was smart enough to put the date inside of our wedding band. So that way I can check it and get the date right. Pretty good thinking on her part, huh?

WAVERLY GOLF OPENS TUESDAY, MARCH 17th

That’s right, our Irish Superintendent, Doug O’Snook, has okayed us to play at the fun Waverly Golf Course. The pro shop will open at 11 am and the course will be open at NOON. Larry Williams and his foursome will again lead us off the first tee with the shot heard around the, well, clubhouse, as he doesn’t hit it as far or as hard as Tiger.
Doug said the course looks in great shape and has come out of the winter well. He also says that the course is pretty dry. Still a bit of frost in the ground. We are planning on allowing golf carts on the course right from the start.
So let’s get playing some golf and hope that we have a great and sustained Spring and then have another 200 days of great weather. See ya at the course.
FYI-we began running golf carts at Legend Trail at noon on Monday.
Expanded Grill Hours, U asked 4 it, you got it

We are adding Friday and Saturday nights to the regular hours of Monday-Saturday 6 am to 1:30 pm. We will begin serving food on Friday and Saturday from 5 pm to 8 pm. We will have the regular menu plus Satch will add more as we go. We will be serving breakfast during this time. Why? Because that is Greg’s favorite meal so that is what we are going to do.
We will be adding a steak, broasted chicken, pasta and a few other specials as we go through the summer. So stop on out for food and fun.
PLUS we will be open during March Madness with expanded hours on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We will be open until the final gun sounds on these nights. Join us.

Sorry but we had to cancel the dinner/dance due to lack of reservations. Bad timing, spring break, weekday, plus we are sure you just want to have some green beer. There are still openings for the St. Patty’s Day dinner. George Clark will be entertaining us with some more great live music. Satch will be providing another great meal. Jay will be serving ice cold beer and super mixed drinks. So call the Pro Shop 319-346-1499 to make your reservation for FUN. Don’t forget to wear green, unless you want to get pinched
All Golf Center & Legend Trail NOW OPEN

We have opened up the All Golf Center and Legend Trail for the 2009 Golfing season. Yeah I know it is snowing and cold. But the great Don “Narve” Narveson said to never open on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday and it was best to always open on a “lousy day”. That way one could sell season passes for those that are anticipating the weather changing. So we are opening the facilities on Wednesday, March 11th. Remember it is a bit early so the conditions are not ideal, but they will be in about a month or so.
The All Golf Center will be open from 11 am to dark at this time. You may only hit off of the mats, we hope to open the grass areas up as soon as possible. The course will be open to walking only.
Legend Trail will be open for walking only also. We hope to get carts out as soon as it dries up a bit. And not “freeze dried” as I am sure it is tonight after the cold. John will get the tee markers and flags out asap. We would ask that you stay off of the newly seeded areas as much as possible. We know that you will occasionally hit into those areas. Please take a free drop off of those newly seeded areas. When we do open for carts we ask that you be smart and follow the roped off areas that take you away from these newly seeded areas. The more you stay off of them the faster the grass will recover and look great in April and May.
You will notice that we have the cart paths in. We just need to roll them smooth, as soon as we can get a roller out on them. Also the yardage markers are out on the par threes. We hope that you enjoy know the yardage from there to the middle of the green, then just adjust for front or back pin placements, up hill/down hill and of course what little wind we have out at Legend Trail.
We hope that you enjoy golf in 2009. Take some time to play with friends and/or family this year.
Pool League finals tonight

The finals for the 2009 House Pool League were contested tonight at The Tap Room at Legend Trail Golf. The league was held over 8 weeks. We had a round robin pool league for the first 6 weeks. The standings for this are in the Pool League under The Tap Room menu on the website. Then the final 2 weeks were held with a double elimination tournament.
The 6 2-person teams had way too much fun over the 8 weeks. Just ask Ed as he will have a team entered for 2010. Ed and Theresa did the impossible for the first 7 weeks. They flipped for the break the first 7 weeks and won only 1 time in 21 flips. You figure the odds. Now this was still accomplished with Theresa bringing her own “special coin” to “break the jinx”. Still didn’t work. But they rallied from last place to finish tied for 3rd in the regular season.
Mike and Beth finished as the No. 1 seed in the tournament. Tiff and Mama (with Doyle as the replacement in week 7) made a serious rally from a 6th seed to make it to the semi’s by upsetting eventual champions Mike and Beth. They played so well in week 7 that Theresa had to stick around to watch the finish.
But Mike and Beth were able to rally through the loser’s/consolation bracket to get to the finals. They beat Satch and Virgil in the finals by beating them two times in the two set final. A tough thing to do. To win the title. Congrats and thanks for the great 8 weeks of pool league.
We look forward to 2009-2010 season. We will host a “house league” along with organizing a A-P Bar League for next year, because these people had way tooooo much fun and want to spread the joy of playing the league. Requirement is…laugh and have fun. Otherwise you are not allowed!!!
2009 Season Golf Passes on Sale

The rates for the 2009 Golfing Season have been set. You have kept the rates the same as 2007 and 2008. We hope that you will join all the fun happenings at the Legend Trail, All Golf Center and Waverly Municipal Golf. Look under each of the drop down menu’s for all of the rates for the respective golf courses.
We are offering the same deal to Beaver Meadows Golf and Aplington Golf as we did in 2008. $100 off the price of an Adult, Senior or Family Season Pass. We have also added Waverly Muni and All Golf Center Season Ticket holders with that price.
We will be doing a Season Pass for those that want to join All Golf Center and Legend Trail–it will be a ONE PRICE for TWO Season Pass to both of those facilities. This will allow some of you that work in Waterloo to take advantage of hitting balls or playing a quick round of golf at the All Golf Center. Or for those of you that want to travel away from Waterloo/Cedar Falls to try Legend Trail Golf. This will be coming out in the next week.
We will probably have All Golf Center open the soonest as we have mats available there to hit range balls off of. The other courses we will open as soon as we possibly can.
