Legend Trail is Happy to Host your Christmas Party

Pool League at The Tap Room is halfway through

Waverly Golf Course will close Sunday, Nov 15th

waverlygclogocolorfinal The Waverly Golf Course will close for the 2009 Golfing Season on Sunday, November 15th at 5 pm.  We have had a pretty good run this year but all good things must come to an end.  The course is in outstanding condition going into the Winter.  So it will be really ready for your golf swings next Spring.  The Pro Shop will open for X-Mas Sales in December so watch the website for those Christmas Shopping Hours.

For you Waverly Golf Course Season Pass holders, present your membership card to our Legend Trail Golf Staff in Parkersburg and you may play by paying your cart fee ($12.00-we only have 12 carts) or your trail fee ($5.00-I would recommend this is you have a golf cart), we will waive your greens fee until we close.

We are first come, first served so get in line and go.  You may have a bite to eat in The Tap Room prior to play also or a drink after your round.  We’d love for you to see the place.

Spree and Krusey win Fall Match play League

November 9, 2009

Rod Spree and Chuck Krusey defeated Gary Wolfe and Derek Etjen to win the Fall Match Play League.  Teams were seeded after our summer golf league and they played matches versus each other and Spree and Krusey prevailed over Wolfe and Etjen.  Congrats these men and their first championship.  Thanks to Virgil Goodrich for organizing this fun golf event.

New fun games, darts, TREES at Legend Trail Golf

If you have not been to Legend Trail Golf or The Tap Room you have missed a few things.  Dart Board, Video Game, New TV.  Also the WEBSITE will have our Weekly/Daily food specials in the upper right corner corner so you may look there to see what our “special of the day” is.  We will continue to have our regular menu also.

We now have a dart board for you to “aim at the bulls-eye”.  We have also added the video game where you may shoot at Turkeys for fun.  Jay has already become a master marksman at this and challenges anyone to beat his scores.  We are looking for a couple more video games, like Golden Tee to add to the staple of fun we have at The Tap Room.

We have also added a new 32″ TV to the bar area.  That way you may watch the Hawks or Cyclones or Panthers or well yes Jay will have his Gophers on one of them.  Now you don’t have to turn around to watch two games.  We will add a third as we receive our gift card from Farner-Bocken our food purveyor.

TREES-yes I hope you can see them from the road and they are awesome.

D. Jay Ellis and his Legend Trail Development Group donated a total of 30 trees to the golf course along with 20 trees on the back of the driving range for the drive into the housing development.  We have positioned the trees to give you aiming points and to define the holes a bit better.  Many of your have noticed these additions.

Hole #3-three trees on the left of the fairway about 200 yards off the white tees, and 3 on the right side about 280 yards off the white tees

Hole #4-one about 30 yards off the fourth tee to discourage some of you from going down #3 and 3 trees on the left side to give you aiming points and to define the 4 mounds on the left side of the fairway.

Hole #5-3 trees straight away to give you aiming points.

Hole #6-3 trees on the left side of the fairway and 3 on the right side of the fairway, this hole is really tightened up.

Hole #8-3 trees on the left and 3 on the right, this hole appears tighter also.

Hole #9-5 trees on the mound between holes #1 and #9.

We hope you enjoy the new additions on the golf course and in The Tap Room.  As we continue to say, Time and Money and we can do anything.  Be patient with us as we continue to add items to “engage” you and your family at the Legend Trail.  We had a great staff brainstorm meeting today.  We have heard you suggestions and some we will implement as time and money allow.  So thanks for helping us enjoy our first year in the Restaurant business.

Tap Room Winter Hours in Effect

tap_room_logoWell golf is slowing down so our winter hours will take effect on Monday, November 9th.  Our grill hours will stay the same at this time.  Monday-Saturday from 6 am to 1:30 pm and Friday-Saturday from 5 pm to 8 pm.  But we will have NEW Lounge Hours.  We will be open Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm, Monday through Wednesday from 6 am to 8 pm. and Thursday through Saturday from 6 am to 10 pm.  Happy Hour specials will still be on from 3 pm to 6 pm, EVERYDAY.  But we are bringing back the FREE goodies on Sunday through Thursday for your snacking pleasure (these were usually, chips and salsa, cheese, meat and crackers and our famous lil’ smokies or meatballs.  So stop on by and watch a game on the TV or visit with friends.  We want you to enjoy our calm, family setting.
