G3 Golf expanding golf in Waterloo Golf and Cedar Valley Golf
April 29, 2010
Well we have all kinds of things to pass on to you tonight. First of all our junior golf programs have been scheduled for 2010. Just look under Lessons – Junior Lessons and then look under Waverly or Legend Trail Junior Golf. Make sure you click on the correct one for your Junior Golfer. Now if one does not work for you and you wish to drive your junior golfer to the other facility–that is great as we hope the two programs can/may suite your needs.
Coach Thomas Memorial Golf Tourney on June 19th has been scheduled. We will have 8:30 and 1:30 shotguns at Legend Trail. Visit the http://www.edthomasfamilyfoundation.org/ for more information or call Legend Trail Golf for more information. To ensure your spot, please send a check to reserve your spot.
Legend Trail Men’s Golf League is out and we are looking for teams. If everyone signs up that gave their name to us, we will have over 60 players in our league. So go to http://www.g3golf.com/legend-trail/mens-golf-league/ for more information and sign up now and do not miss the fun. You do not need to be a season ticket holder to sign up for league.
Ladies’ and Couple’s League/Golf at Legend Trail Golf–you do not have to attend everyone, thought we’d love it. But call our shop at 319-346-1499 to find out more.
And back by popular demand - Schuchmann of Waterloo Golf Headquarters and Mason get to be ONPRESSROW with the Gary Rima the Sports Guy on 1540 KXEL next Wednesday, May 5th from 5 pm to 6 pm for more Golf Expertise. So tune in and better yet call in.
Besides all this – - the season has started out well with the weather and we are very happy with the sign up at all three facilities. I made my first double eagle on Monday that upset the Shoe since he has made 12 hole in ones but NO double eagles. One of the only things I have done that he has not done. Link is http://www.iowapga.com/in-the-news/greg-mason-scores-double-eagle-at-tpc-deere-run/ to find out more.
Thanks and see you on the links.
PS Pass on the links, the Facebook and Twitter addresses to your friends.

Legend Trail has many golf leagues to choose from
April 18, 2010
It is finally posted and ready for you to sign up on. The following pdf’s will give you most of the information you will need, if not ask and we will get you the answer. Tuesday will be Ladies’ Night, Thursday will be Men’s Night and Friday will be Couple’s Night. All these events will start at 5:30 p.m. so come join the fun.
Ladies’ Night will have some structure but mostly it will be fun and laughs. We will come up with a fun event for you each and every week. You do not have to play each week but we’d sure like it. For those of you ladies that do not play golf, come out anyway and play some cards and laugh at/with each other. Greg will have a monthly FREE golf clinic for those interested. Click here for the poster – - Ladies League Poster-2010
Men’s Night will be more structured. The poster and the sign up are included so that you may download to sign up. It will be a two man team and all players must have a league handicap, including substitutes. We have included the price of 4 cook your own steak nights in the fee. This will save each of you money and 95% of you ate a steak on those nights anyway. We look forward to filling up the golf course. Please read the information and if you have questions please feel free to ask after that. Poster is - – Men’s League Poster 2010 and the sign up is – - Mens League Sign UP-2010
Couple’s Night will be a lot of fun. We have a set price for the season ticket holders and a 2 for 1 price for the non-members. We will also have a price that will included a meal after play for those that wish that option. Based on the sign up of interested parties, we should have a turnout of 12-20 couples each week. So Derek & Jill will have some competition each week and I know they will welcome the challenge and the company!!! The poster is - – Couples League Poster-2010
We have a few more items on the planning stage and will publish as soon as we have the information. We are leaning towards doing our Junior Golf Lessons at Parkersburg on Wednesday Mornings. The kids will be taught golf and then sent our to play.
We hope that you get involved in one or all of these fun-filled events. Based on play the past couple of days on the golf course, we will have many interested parties. Yikes!!!
Mason and Schuchmann ON PRESS ROW next Wednesday, April 21st
April 15, 2010
Mike Schuchmann, owner of Golf Headquarters in Waterloo and Greg Mason of the Waverly Golf Course, Legend Trail Golf and the All Golf Center will make their second appearance on the Gary Rima’s, ON PRESS ROW, that may be heard on 1540 KXEL each day from 5 pm to 6 pm. They get to voice their opinion on everything golf in Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Waverly, Parkersburg, Aplington, Dike and the whole Cedar Valley next Wednesday, April 21st from 5 pm to 6 pm. Feel free to call in and ask questions of Mike, Greg and the Host and voice of the Panthers, OH BABY, Gary Rima.
Mike and Greg were invited by Gary to his show a couple of weeks back and it was so well received that Gary is bringing us back for more fun, questions and comments on golf. So if you lack energy, listen to the show as Gary will give you the energy you lack. His passion for sports, UNI anything and golf is infectious. So see you next Wednesday on 1540, the blow torch, for some great theatre on the radio.
Waverly Golf Course to open new holes
April 15, 2010
The City of Waverly, approved by the Waverly Golf Commission in today’s monthly meeting, will be opening the two (2) new golf holes on Friday, May 14th. And are we excited about that as we do not have to answer any more questions about when or if they would be open for play. Doug Snook and his crew have done an outstanding job of getting the two new holes in play condition. We must stress that not all will be perfect. Some items will be missing but the tees, fairways and greens will be in great shape – - and that is the part you are interested in anyway. But Doug and his staff have until then to hopefully get some of those items on the things to do list completed. These golf holes will certainly add to the current golf course and great golf that we have in the Waverly Golf, Waterloo golf and Cedar Falls golfing areas.
We are sure that you will all enjoy the two new holes with their awesome water features and playability of holes. The two new holes were designed by Paul Miller from Minnesota. Paul visited in the past couple of weeks and really liked the feel of the two new holes. They came close to his visualization he had put on the blueprints for the City of Waverly. Thanks Paul!!!
Many of you have asked how the course will play–see the following on how they will be numbered. In addition the timeline set below will show you how long we will be playing 20 holes, the order they play in and about TWO 20 hole golf tournaments we will host. More importantly this gives you until May 23rd to play the old holes 13 and 14 before they close and the hospital officially takes over those holes in February of 2011.

Campbell-Mellema, Chamber host Easter Egg Hunt
April 6, 2010
The Legend Trail driving range played host to many little Egg Hunters on Saturday, April 3rd. This event was ran by the Chamber and sponsored by Campbell-Mellema Insurance. Mike, Diane, Chad and Tracy Campbell did a great job of organizing this fun-filled event for the little one’s (and the BIG one’s). As you will see from the pictures, it was a great turnout. We thank the community for the outstanding turnout and for all the volunteers that helped come set up the “egg course” for all to find. The sunshine and smiles say it all.
The cars were watching in anticipation.
Checking their bags and listening for direction.
Is this a cross country meet or an Easter Egg Hunt?
The Queen and her Rabbit!!! Thanks for a great Easter Egg Hunt, Chamber and Campbell-Mellema!!!
The Tap Room almost gets to 200 Legend Trail membership up, up, up
April 4, 2010
We want to thank everyone for a great Good Friday. We have always been trying to serve over 200 people in a day and we almost got there. Other food establishments do way more than that but we are striving for that number still when we served 197 on Good Friday. We had our most successful Fysh Fryday ever and thanks for that. Steph and Greg kept grabbing the swimming fish and throwing them in the fryer, YIKES!!! We almost had to go to the stream to catch some more fish. Jay and Terri kept grabbing the drinks and food and ran their legs and tails off. Thanks for your patronage.
We have reached 65 golfing members at Legend Trail. Well on our way to our goal of 80 golfing members for 2010. We thank all of you that have been recruiting new members and for those that “just signed up”. The best part is many of you are playing golf. Remember to remind those on the fence that the deadline for the best price is April 15, 2010. So get them to join now. Sign ups for the men’s, ladies’ and couples leagues are going well and more information will be coming out this week in regards to those programs.
We look forward to continued service at all of the facilities. We hope that you had a great Easter. We will have a post for the Chamber’s Easter Egg Hunt on the Legend Trail driving range that was sponsored by Campbell-Mellema Insurance–with pictures. That was quite a site to see all those kids on the range.
Gosch Dralle win Legend Trail Pool League
April 4, 2010
Gail Gosch and Richard Dralle beat Jay Anderson and Curt Carr in the finals of the playoffs for our Winter Pool League. There were many hotly contested matches during the three week playoffs. Gosch and Dralle used their weekly practice to maintain stead play over the season and playoffs. We look forward to more and more teams in next years pool leagues. Thanks for playing. Greg should have your winnings by the end of the week. Check with our staff for those winnings.
Results of the double elimination tournament.
