Hawks are not playing, the Clones are playing against Texas at night and you can always listen to the Sports Guy on 1540 AM call our Panthers at the Mizzou St Bears. So get your tush out to the golf course on Saturday. October Specials start – time for 18 holes? $25 each for greens fee and cart, minimum of 2 people at both places. Only have time for 9 holes? 2 of you play 9 holes with cart for $30 at Waverly and $25 at Legend Trail. So what are you waiting for and invitation? Well you just got it.

we remind you to be careful. It is HARVEST season so give our farmers a break they are working long hours, they may not see you in their trucks and tractors so give them a wide birth (as Sean Connery said in Hunt for Red October). Have fun at all your High School and College Football games as teams have friendly “competitions”. Remember most of you have helped each other in a time of need. So cheer your team on hard but at the end of the game, shake hands, hug each other, SMILE and enjoy the great rivalry. Good luck D-NH and A-P in tomorrows game. Go Panthers as you beat the Mizzou Bears!!!

The #2 ranked Northern Iowa Panther Football team is not playing this weekend, the St. Louis Rams play on Monday Night SOOOOOO Saturday and Sunday are FREE for you to play some golf. There are no other teams to watch so come on out and play one of our golf courses. So dust the clubs off and play 9, play 18, just play.

Legend Trail in Parkersburg, Iowa aerified 3 weeks ago and the greens are perfect. Waverly Golf in Waverly, Iowa aerified last week and are almost completely healed. So now is the time to some out and play some great FALL GOLF. All kinds of neat specials. Weekends at the courses – 9 holes of golf with a cart for 2 people is $30, Weekday before 2, with two golfers, 18 holes with cart is $25 and of course we have the Fall Season Pass Special where a Single can play unlimited golf until the snow flies for $99 BUCKAROOS. So now what is your excuse, you really want to watch football 24/7? Come on, get out and play a little golf because in 2 plus months you will be complaining about how cold it is…yep, we have heard it every year since 1988.
Mid Iowa Over 50 is hosted by Legend Trail in Parkersburg Iowa

The Mid Iowa Over 50 was played at Legend Trail in Parkersburg, Iowa today. WIND has returned to Iowa as the senior men competed in a 2 Senior Best Shot with an AM and a PM shotgun on the fun, but challenging 9 hole golf course at Legend Trail. Using our middle tees on the first nine and our most forward red tees (http://www.pga.com/pga-america/pga-feature/tee-it-forward-barney-adams-makes-case-how-make-game-more-enjoyable) the WIND played havoc on the golfers. Morgie wins the 3rd Annual Legend Trail Invite at Parkersburg, Iowa

Scott Morgensen won the 3rd Annual Legend Trail Invite with a fine round of 71. Having never played the course before, Morgie birdied the first hole and then followed up with his usual steady play to win the event by 3 over Derek Etjen’s 74. Greg Koenen and Dave Grawe shot 76′s and Fred Grawe shot 77 to follow behind Morgie. We appreciate everyone playing on this 10th Anniversary of 9/11. Thanks for enjoying the day and keeping life going as we remember the day. Fun was had by all and we hope for an even better turnout in 2012. Here are the results…LT Invite Results-11
The Tap Room is open Sunday as we Host Legend Trail Invite

The Tap Room at Legend Trail will be open for food from 10 am to 1:30pm on Sunday, Sept. 11th. We will also be hosting the 3rd Annual Legend Trail Invite with tee times from 10 am to noon. So even if you can’t play stop on out and have a bite to eat. We encourage all of you to wear something Patriotic as we honor those that lost their lives 10 years ago and to honor those THAT SAVED LIVES that day also. So flags, USA clothing, anything that says THANKS as we are the #1 Country in the World.
