Well was today the last day of golf for the Cedar Valley for 2012? I would love to have one day in December so you may play, if so we will be open. Can’t watch NBA Basketball? Watch D-League Basketball as their season started tonight. Adam Koch, former Northern Iowa Panther great will play tonight. Go to NBA.com/Dleague and click on the games to watch. Plus the UNI Panthers beat Rice and take on Providence tomorrow night. Go Panthers as we await OUR run at a National Football Championship in the FCS (Division I-AA for us old guys).

The staff of G3 Golf wishes everyone a great and safe Thanksgiving Day. Waverly Golf, Legend Trail Golf in Parkersburg and All Golf Center in Waterloo say thanks for another fun year in golf and FRIENDSHIPS. We truly cherish the friendships we had, have and WILL have because of our business in golf and at the Tap Room in Parkersburg. Please travel safely and when you arrive, give them a hug and kiss and say THANKS. The course at Legend Trail in Parkersburg is STILL OPEN. The restaurant will be closed Thursday and reopen for business on Friday. Happy Birthday my brother Gary Mason.
Northern Iowa Football, Basketball, Legend Trail still open, revised Menu

Northern Iowa Football is in the FCS Playoffs with a 1st round bye then play Wofford. Panther Basketball won tonight in a spirited game with Northern Colorado. Great time of the year as Gary Rima, voice of our Panthers, gets to talk and talk and talk. He be good at it. Legend Trail Golf is STILL OPEN for golf, weather permitting. Plus we start the new revised Menu_Full_11-1-11_-1 beginning Monday the 21st. Steph and Greg will take some pictures of our new menu items for you to drool over…they be good.

We know that golf is slowing down. So if it is tooo cold you can always watch our UNI Panther RANKED football team finish the season and head to the playoffs. Plus you can watch the beginning of Panther Basketball. Johnny Moran will lead a talented group of youngsters in an exciting season. 1st game beat Old Dominion AT ODU and play St. Marys AT Cali tonight or tomorrow on ESPN. I look forward to another PGA Conference in warm Florida as we continue talking about GETTING YOU ALL TO PLAY MORE GOLF the future.

Waverly Golf still open and Golf Items on Sale

It is that time of year. Everything is on sale, clothing 33-50% off, golf balls $5 off, bags $50 off, caps/visors 25%, ALL DEMO clubs on sale as low as $69. We are still open 10 am to 5 pm until the course closes. We will look at the weather on November 13th and decide from there whether to close or not. We will be closing Waverly Golf on November 20th at the very latest. So stop on out and get the jump on your Christmas Gifts.

Hey where were you today? Stub said he had black golf balls ready for someone to tee off with him at Legend Trail Golf. Snow has melted throughout the day so we will be open when available. Some of you may wonder…greens are a bit longer, fairways are a bit longer..WHY? Because it is November in Iowa. We need to put some growth on the greens and fairways so that our conditions in May and beyond in 2012 are good. We could cut the grass down to .125 or lower on the greens to help you play on pure and fast greens, but it is NOVEMBER. One must understand for the living breathing organism–grass needs to be a bit “hairy” this time of year. Please understand that you cannot have JULY conditions in November. I think that is why the squirrels hide nuts and such and Bears put on winter “fat” to survive the winter…our grass must be the same. If you want faster greens this time of year, go SOUTH. Sorry for the rant but please understand our superintendents are doing what is best…
