August 4 Person Best Shot Results

August 15, 2009

A great day of fun was had by all at the Legend Trail August 4 Person Best Shot held on Saturday, August 15th.  The golfers tee’d off at 9 am and were all done by 1 pm.  Now that it fast, fast golf, thanks for that.  Marc Reifenrath, Todd Thomas, Aaron Thomas and Josh Peters shot a fine round of 58 (14 under) to win this fun event.  After that it was a tight group of golfers as we had two flights.  Some of the golfers had so much fun that they played an emergency nine holes of golf.

We also had five skins out.  The Thompson/Groves team had three of those skins.   They had a total of three eagles!!!  Now that is some good golf.

Be sure to check the calendar for the next fun event at Legend Trail Golf or any of our other fine facilities.

Jaspers Leads the Waverly Invite

July 11, 2009

Joe Jaspers returned to the golf course of his youth and shot a fine round of 63 to lead the 2009 Waverly Invitational.  There were many fine scores over the Par 70 lay-out, described as the “longest little golf course in America”.  Doug Snook and his fine staff worked hard to recover the course to great playing conditions after Friday’s storms.

Players felt the course was in great condition and could not believe how dry the course was after receiving over 3.5″ of rain on Friday.  Scoring was low for all the players.  We look forward to opening up the new back tee on Hole #6 and Hole #15 for Sunday’s final round.

Come back to the website tomorrow and follow the final scores.

1st Annual Tornado Golf Tournament

May 26, 2009

p52501602What a great day for a great cause.  Over $1500 was raised for the community project, pool and other projects through the PED.  We had 76 golfers enjoy a great day of golf at the Legend Trail Golf Course.  We had two teams shoot awesome scores of 58, 14 under par on a very windy day.  Results from the tournament can be found at the bottom of the page, right before all the pictures.

Legend Trail Golf, the All Golf Center and the players donated $15 of each players entry fee to the community project.  In addition, mulligan tickets raised an additional $300 plus dollars.  Thanks to Virgil Goodrich for helping organize this and collect the mulligan money.  We also had a couple of teams donate their winning skins back into the pot.  We appreciate everyone’s generosity.

Also special thanks to the “Renewal with remembrance” committee and all the work that they did to set up this event and all of the town’s events.  (Say thanks to Valerie Thorne when you see her, she did a great job of keeping us all informed).

Steve Brass of Highway 57 Auto, donated $5 per winning flight and winning flag event to each player.  Thanks Steve!!!

Though it was the anniversary of the tornado, we still must remember what this Holiday is for.  Our follow heroes and those that have served their country.  We recognized those veterans at our awards ceremony.  Thank you to all of your that have served our great, great country.

We look forward to more tournaments like this one.  Next year we hope to have a double shotgun and 36 teams.
