Mason helps team defend its Orrhouse Open Team Title
July 18, 2010
Mase was able to help his team defend its Orrhouse Open Pro-Am title at Timberline Golf Course in Peosta, Iowa on Sunday. The team made a late charge to get to 8 under par by doubling up on birdies on two straight holes and get Mase into a playoff where he won on the first playoff hole with a par over the runner-up’s professional, Kevin Flanigan of St. Andrews Golf Course in Cedar Rapids. Iowa. This was the 15th Annual event named after “The Coach”, Johnny Orr (Orrhouse Open), where 5 person teams play a fun, varied format. The C/D players play best shot, the A/B players play 1 best ball (low score) and the pro plays his own ball. They then count the low two balls of the event. It really helps get rid of the “sandbaggers”. One of the most fair events we professionals play in. Thanks to Dick Specht, Mike Fagerlind and their staff for hosting a great event.
