Waverly Golf
Same old game, great new look!
These pages are dedicated to the historic Waverly Municipal Golf Course. This course is owned and operated by the City of Waverly. It offers a great old fashioned style of golf. It is the longest, shortest golf course you will ever play. Its Par 70-5,888 yards of fun is very deceptive from the very tips.
It was voted the 2003 Iowa Golf Association 18 Hole Golf Course of the Year. It plays host to many golf outings and tournaments that are open to the public.
The course had $1.5 million in improvements in 2001 and 2002. New green complexes, tee complexes, adding of strategic ponds and renovation of newly watered fairways make this facility one fun golf course. They currently are in the midst of adding two new golf holes to the West of the course. This will add to the spectacular views of golf you will enjoy at this open to the public facility.
The two new golf holes will open at sometime this Spring/Summer, weather and conditions permitting. We are sure that you will enjoy the two new holes that will replace old holes #13 and #14. We will probably play 20 holes for a short period of time and then transition back to just 18 holes. The new configuration of holes will go like this – Hole #1, Hole #2, Hole #3 (former #10), Hole #4 (former #11), Hole #5 (former hole #12), Hole #6 (former hole #15), Hole #7 (former hole #16), Hole #8 (former hole #17), Hole #9 (former hole #18). Then Hole #10 (former hole #3), Hole #11 (former hole #4), Hole #12 (former hole #5), Hole #13 (former hole #6), Hole #14 (former hole #7), Hole #15 (new par three), Hole #16 (new par four), Hole #17 (former hole #8) and Hole #18 (former #9).
